J.G. Wentworth Debuts Ads Starring Winners of ‘Shot at the Spot’
New Commercials Feature Individuals Singing Original Renditions of Company’s Iconic Jingle
Radnor, PA., Sept. 6, 2016 – The J.G. Wentworth Company® (“J.G. Wentworth” or the “Company”) (OTCQX: JGWE), today announced the launch of a collection of commercials composed entirely from submissions to its “Shot at the Spot” contest & sweepstakes. The spots feature a variety of talented individuals, selected by a combination of J.G. Wentworth judges and agency partners, who sang their own renditions of the Company’s iconic 877-CASH-NOW jingle.
The premiere of the ads marks the conclusion of “Shot at the Spot,” a promotion that challenged individuals to sing, record and submit their own renditions of the J.G. Wentworth jingle for a chance to win a share of $50,000 in cash prizes or inclusion in a future commercial. Over the course of the nine-week contest program, eligible recordings were published online where the general public voted for their favorite videos. Cash-prize winners were selected based on these votes and a few other criteria and announced in March. A panel of J.G. Wentworth judges working in conjunction with the creative agency, Yamamoto, chose the entries to be featured in the commercials. All submissions, including those already awarded cash prizes, had a “shot” at inclusion in the ads.
“It’s clear our customers and friends of the brand had a great time creating their own versions of our famous jingle. We were inundated with quality submissions, but the individuals featured in the final cuts of the commercials offered a creative and original spin that stood apart from other entrants,” said John Owens, Chief Marketing Officer. “We are excited to share these ads with audiences across the country.”
The “Shot at the Spot” commercials will appear on national broadcast and cable networks beginning Sept. 6, 2016 and will be featured in a digital media campaign. The spots can also be viewed at jgwentworth.com.
